Alternate History Thriller
we've been here before
After waiting years with a heavy conscious, Daniel Ellsberg leaked the Pentagon Papers in 1971 , being the full disclosure on America’s fabricated war in Vietnam, which would go on to spark the creation of Nixon’s ‘plumber unit’,
resulting in the Watergate scandal, the resignation of President Nixon, the Rockefeller Commission, and the end of the Vietnam War.
This is the story of what might have happened had the 'Papers' been published when first discovered, in late summer of 1969; and the avalanche of leaks that followed. But this story plays out in the background, as we witness a young single mother and her terminally ill daughter drive from Los Angeles to Cassadaga, Florida over the course of a weekend; parallel to a young journalist and his amnesiac father making the same trip. On the way there, we dig deeper into these characters, their shared histories, see them tested, and ultimately changed as the national turmoil surrounding them gradually culminates in what becomes the second American revolution.
